Necklace | Self-portrait

This beautiful necklace is made of solid 925 sterling silver.
It is handmade in Nuenen a small town in the Netherlands where Vincent van Gogh painted a quarter of his oeuvre.
The diameter of the pendant is 18mm and is no less than 1mm thick.
It represents the painting Self-portrait

Van Gogh often used himself as a model for practicing figure painting. His Paris self-portraits serve as a useful record of his painterly experiments. This is one of them, here Van Gogh applied the technique of the Pointillists in his own, original way. He placed the short stripes of paint in different directions. Where they follow the outline of his head, they form a kind of halo.
